During exercise, the increase in internal temperature causes temporary dilation of the pores, which are essential for regulating temperature, eliminating toxins and producing sebum. The application of makeup clogs the pores, preventing natural perspiration and encouraging the accumulation of sweat, bacteria and oils.

If our pores are blocked by the particles left behind by the products we previously applied, the risk of imperfections such as acne increases. The combination of makeup and sweat creates favorable conditions for the proliferation of bacteria. Trapped bacteria can cause inflammation, spreading to other areas of the face and leading to various types of acne, including whiteheads, blackheads and pimples.

Sweating and friction during exercise can lead to chemicals from makeup entering the eyes, causing irritation, burning and even eye infections. It also contributes to long-term skin problems, such as premature aging and loss of elasticity, negatively affecting overall skin health.

Wearing eye makeup during exercise also increases the risk of styes, which is an infection that develops in the eyelash follicle or tear gland. Makeup or bacteria block a follicle or gland in the eye area becoming a stye. Styes can form on the eyelid or under the eyelid by the lash line.

We touch many bacteria-filled surfaces in the gym, so it is crucial to maintain good hygiene in the gym to avoid skin problems. Touching bacteria-filled surfaces, such as shared equipment, increases the risk of developing acne. To prevent this, it is essential to disinfect and clean equipment before and after use. By doing so, you remove bacteria that could clog pores and cause acne breakouts.

In addition, washing your face immediately after exercising is a recommended practice to minimize the chances of a breakout. By removing sweat and impurities from the skin, you reduce the likelihood of clogged pores, which can lead to pimples and blackheads.
